Hotel La Moka is located in a UNESCO Reserve of the Biosphere, in the Sierra del Rosario mountains about 45 minutes west of Havana. It is considered the nicest eco-lodge in Cuba, and overlooks the "model" village of Las Terrazas, the focus of a massive reforestation project started in the 1970's. Ideally situated for bird watching, hiking or just to enjoy the cascades and pools of the nearby San Juan River. Moka's designed is based on a contemporary interpretation of Spanish colonial architecture, and features a splendid multi-tiered atrium lobby built around a large lime tree (the branches magically disappear through the skylight). The two-story units have magnificent red-barked trees growing through the balconies and ceiling. Gastronomic offer is wide, and clients who have purchased meal plans in Hotel La Moka are able to enjoy meal services in any of the complex's restaurants.
